Sassy Scrubs On HBO Special!

Sassy Scrubs, a custom uniform manufacturer located in Penn Yan,was recently contacted to provide a unique doctor’s lab coat for a new HBO comedy special featuring comedian Lewis Black.

Producer’s Assistant, Jodi Gleave contacted Sassy Scrubs President, Karen Bradley, to have a black lab coat custom made and mailed overnight to the set of a comedy special currently filming which stars comedian Lewis Black.

Sassy Scrubs received the call for this item on a Thursday stressing that it was imperative that the coat be received by Monday for filming. Sassy Scrubs delivered the lab coat on Saturday, two days ahead of schedule!

It was important for the production to have this unique item and Gleave had been unable to find it anywhere else, states Bradley. “She found us on the internet when she searched for scrubs”, says Bradley. “We were happy to help her out. She had contacted several scrubs companies but none could provide her with this unusual color request.” Since the company custom makes every item ordered, they were able to construct the lab coat of black fabric to the exact specifications needed to fit Mr. Black, who only wears black clothing onstage.

Lewis Black has been featured regularly in the “Back in Black” segment on Comedy Central’s television show “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” since 1996. He has also guest starred in several television shows such as “Homicide” and “Mad About You”.

Sassy Scrubs’ Bradley states “It’s so exciting to receive requests like this one. It makes us proud to be able to provide exactly what is needed, in the time frame in which the customer needs it.” Due to the prompt response she received from Sassy Scrubs, Gleave promised that she’ll call again when her next project calls for something “Sassy”.
